Robin Wright's series 'gift'

Robin Wright thinks it is a “gift” to work on a movie franchise.
The 45-year-old actress stars alongsideDaniel Craig and Noomi Rapace in the English language remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which has two planned sequels and she admits in the current economic climate she is more than happy to work on a series of films.
“I love that security. With the economy and the recession, everyone’s feeling it, so it’s absolutely a gift,” she said.
“I think it would feel very awkward and there’d probably be some resentment if someone else played Erika in the next two films. She’s my character now.”
However, Robin who has daughter Dylan, 20, and son Hopper, 18, with ex-husband Sean Penn admits the original books by Stieg Larsson would not be the kind of material she would usually pick up.
“Are they the sort of books I’d normally read? Not really,” she said.
“Now that my kids are out of the house I’m finally able to get to the classics I’ve never read: Emily BronteDylan Thomas, Joseph Heller‘s Catch 22. It’s endless. They’re all in a gigantic pile next to my bed.”
