Brad Pitt 'Fatherhood made me passionate'

Three years left: Brad Pitt has announced that he plans to retire when he turns 50 (pictured today in Vietnam)

Brad Pitt says fatherhood has made him more “passionate” about life.
The actor who raises six children, Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, with partner Angelina Jolie wants to create films that will have a lasting impact on his kids since becoming a dad, because movies played such a big part of his life when he was younger.
“I am more passionate now that I am a father. It has focused my mind on the kind of work I want to do,” he said.
“I think of how movies affected me when I was younger, and how they’ve stayed with me ever since.
“Now I want to make films the kids can see and that might stay with them. I want to make films they can be proud of.”
The 47-year-old star admits his “shelf life” as an actor is coming to an end, but he still wants to play a “grumpy old dude” in a movie one day.
“I’m bothered less about whether the films I shoot make money. I just want them to have longevity,” he said.
“We all have a shelf life, and mine is coming although there are a couple of things I’d still like to do. I am looking forward to playing a foul-mouthed grumpy old dude one day, that’s for sure.”
