Chloe Moretz 'I fooled Martin Scorsese'

Chloe Moretz was so convincing as a Brit in new movie Hugo she even fooled her legendary director.

The 14-year-old actress says it wasn’t until after her lengthy audition process for Martin Scorsese that he realized that he had cast a fellow American.

“Martin actually thought I was British because when he first saw me it was on tape in this little scene I did with my brother, who is my acting coach, and I was doing this British accent,” explains Chloe.

“Then when I met him and auditioned he still thought I was British. It was only after that he realized I was American. He was like, ‘You’re American!’ I was like, ‘Yeah Marty, duh!” But I’ve always been good at picking up accents. And I watched Shakespeare in Love a lot. That helped.”
