Jennifer Hudson's baby-father saves her life

Jennifer Hudson believes her fiance saved her life because he kept er out of her family home the day her mother and brother were shot dead.
The Oscar-winner visited professional wrestler David Otunga in October 2008 at the same time her mum Darnell and brother Jason were gunned down in Chicago, Illinois. The body of Hudson’s seven-year-old nephew Julian King was also found in a car nearby three days later.
Hudson has now revealed she too could have been a victim had she turned down Otunga’s invitation to the World Wrestling Entertainment match.
“That’s one of the things that saved my life. Because I could have been home with my mum then. He wanted me to come out to Florida with him instead of going to Chicago. I flew out to see him; that’s why I’m still here. I’ve never said that before, and I can’t believe I just said that now. But I didn’t know,” she said.
“He was just like: ‘I’m going to this wrestling thing and it’s in Tampa. I’m going out there now, so you can come out there and see me versus going home.’”
The star recently confessed she has a wedding date but she’s keeping it secret.
“I’ve always had a [wedding] date!” she said. “I just haven’t told anybody! So it’s set!
“I’ve been through a lot in my life and I’m just trying to take it one step at a time. I’m one of those girls like, ‘Okay, let me get used to this right here! Give me a second!’
“One minute I want the biggest wedding ever, and the next second I’m like I’m not sure if I want big or small, or if it’s just family.”
Adjusting: Hudson was planning a grand wedding to David Otunga before her family members were murdered, but is now in no rush
