Ricki Lake to return in daytime chat show?

Back in the saddle: Ricki Lake is preparing to return to daytime TV with a new chat show it has emerged

Ricki Lake will return to TV presenting next year.
The TV presenter who ended her self-titled talk show in 2004 after 11 years will return with a new series in association with Fox’s 20th Television in 2012 after her successful appearance on Dancing With The Stars but has hinted the format will be different.
“Many of you grew up with me. I hope you’ll stay in touch with me,” she said.
“We’ll learn about each other, and I’m so looking forward to getting back on the air with a show that you guys are needing to see
“I want to spark ideas and conversations and inspire people to take active roles in their communities, relationships and their well-being,
‘I have definitely grown as a person since I put down the mic in 2005, and I couldn’t be happier to share and continue the journey with both my existing fans and an entirely new generation of women.”
It is believed Ricki, 43, is being groomed to take over from Oprah Winfrey who quit daytime TV earlier this year to focus on running her own channel OWN.
However, a senior vice president for Fox’s 20th said, “The question is not who can be the next Oprah.
“The better question is who can now serve that audience and address the issues they are interested in.”
The show is expected to air on either the Fox or NBC networks or a combination of the two and will be aimed firmly at a more mature 25-54 year old female demographic.
