George Clooney 'Batman saved my career'

George Clooney credits Batman for saving his career.

The movie hunk says it was his role as the caped crusader in the flop 1997 movie Batman & Robin that set him on course for long term success.

“When I got the role in Batman & Robin I was calling everyone and I’m like, ‘I got Batman, wooooooooh!’ And then I started to understand that I was going to be held responsible for not just the role I was going get to play, but also for the film’s success or failure,” says George.

“So since then I’ve really tried to focus on the best screenplay rather than just the role.

“Then I make sure the directors I’m working with are on the same page, and we want to do the same kind of films. You can really protect yourself as an actor if you work with really good people, it can hide a lot of flaws!”
