Robin Williams says Darth Vader made him famous

Robin Williams says he has Darth Vader to thank for his long career in Hollywood.
The Dead Poets Society star says Star Wars played an unlikely role in providing his big break on hit show Happy Days.
Happy Days creator Garry Marshall‘s kid saw Star Wars, and he went to his father and said, ‘Dad, why can’t they have an alien on ‘Happy Days‘?” explains Robin of the character that would become his ticket to fame onMork and Mindy.
“I think the Mork cameo was kind of a shout out to his son, as a one-off thing, just because it was just so strange. Mork is there to kidnap The Fonz and it got a huge reaction. The Mork and Mindy show followed but even then we never thought it would last more than twelve episodes.”
Robin who tied the knot with Susan Schneider last month says he’s taking his third marriage each day as it comes.
“Well, I’m certainly not having a mid-life crisis. I had that 20 years ago!” he said.
“You think, ‘Be grateful for what you have’, instead of looking around to get something else. You probably learn not to repeat the same mistakes, to be more accepting.
“And I’m enjoying being married, and really being present. I was present with the other marriages, but…
“You never know if it’s forever. You just take it on a daily basis.”
